My Life Story

My Life Story are a seminal British pop group formed in 1991 by lead singer Jake Shillingford. Known for their orchestral and baroque pop sound, they gained prominence in the mid-90s with hits like "12 Reasons Why I Love Her" and "Sparkle." Their second album, The Golden Mile (1997), achieved critical acclaim and commercial success, peaking at number 36 on the UK Albums Chart. A significant moment in their career was supporting Blur at Mile End Stadium in 1995. The band disbanded in 2000 but reunited in 2006, continuing to perform and release new music, including the 2016 album World Citizen.
